Time is moving fast. Arsenal, fresh from pushing for another title charge, have quietly opened channels over one of the most coveted forwards in Europe—Rodrygo of Real Madrid. Spanish outlet AS, as reported an informal contact.

The Gunners’ need is clear. Nine league goals from Kai Havertz made him their top scorer last season—a statistic that tells its own story. A marquee striker remains the dream, but Mikel Arteta’s vision stretches further.

He wants dynamism on the flanks, unpredictability in the final third, and a player who can turn tight games with a single flash of brilliance.

Rodrygo is that type. His past campaign delivered 23 goal contributions, his dribbling electric, his passing unerring—91% accuracy in La Liga from wide positions is the mark of a technician.

Still, this is an ambitious reach. Real Madrid are not actively selling. If they do, they will want a figure near his £84 million valuation according to transfermark. His wages, already £203,000 a week, could balloon towards £300,000.

Rodrygo will first meet new Madrid boss Xabi Alonso before any decision is made. Arsenal, meanwhile, edge closer to securing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, and once that deal is done, the chase for an attacking crown jewel could accelerate.

For now, the interest is informal. But if Arsenal truly move, this would be more than a transfer—it would be a statement.

Rodrygo isn’t just another signing. He is a player who can tilt seasons.

And Arsenal’s clock is ticking.
