Arsenal are reportedly aiming to outmanoeuvre Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman, according to German football journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Bukayo Saka remains the undisputed starter on Arsenal’s right flank, with Ethan Nwaneri as backup, leaving the left side as an area for potential improvement.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard currently share duties on the left, but both have endured an inconsistent campaign. With Trossard entering the final year of his contract this summer and turning 31 later in the year, the Gunners are exploring long-term replacements.

Initially, Arsenal targeted Leroy Sané, but the winger opted to extend his stay at Bayern. This has shifted their focus to Coman, who is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge away from the Allianz Arena.

However, Arsenal face competition from Saudi Arabian clubs and Tottenham, though Spurs’ pursuit is complicated by Coman’s high salary demands.

Tottenham are also reconsidering their options on the flanks, with Timo Werner unlikely to stay permanently and Wilson Odobert struggling with injuries, while Son Heung-min edges toward the latter stages of his career.

A versatile attacker capable of playing on either wing, Coman has enjoyed remarkable success at Bayern, winning every major honour. Th

e 28-year-old, valued at around £30 million, could offer immediate impact but comes with concerns over injury history and limited resale value.
