Celtic are back in the Scottish Cup’s last four after a confident 2-0 triumph over Hibernian at Celtic Park. Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah found the net as Brendan Rodgers’ men controlled the tie from start to finish and looked capable of winning by a greater margin.

From the outset, the hosts set the tone. Maeda broke the deadlock early, finishing off a slick attacking move that sliced through Hibs’ defense. Celtic pressed relentlessly through the first half, carving openings but failing to add a second before the interval.

After the restart, the Hoops remained on the front foot, dictating play and keeping Hibernian pinned deep.

The decisive moment came in stoppage time when Idah, calm under pressure, slotted home the clincher to end any faint hope of a late comeback. The scoreline read 2-0, though in truth Celtic’s dominance suggested it could have been more emphatic.

The victory puts Rodgers’ side in the semi-finals alongside Aberdeen and Hearts. The final place will be decided tonight when St Johnstone meet Livingston.

Attention now shifts to the draw, which will be held on Monday evening after the conclusion of that quarter-final. Supporters can watch it live on BBC Scotland.

The semi-final ties are set for the weekend of April 19 and 20, with Celtic eyeing another step toward defending the trophy they lifted last season.

That final was sealed by Adam Idah’s dramatic stoppage-time winner against Rangers, a memory still fresh in the minds of the Celtic faithful. For Rodgers’ squad, another piece of silverware is firmly within reach.
