Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is reportedly open to a Premier League return, with Manchester United among the clubs he would consider joining this winter, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Brazilian joined Juventus from Aston Villa in the summer of 2024 but has endured a frustrating spell in Turin.
Injuries and fierce competition for places have limited him to just 14 appearances, most of which have come from the bench.
Reports claim that Luiz’s agent is set to meet with him in Turin to discuss his future. While the 26-year-old remains happy at Juventus, he would only consider leaving for a top Premier League side, with Manchester United at the top of his list.
Fulham and Nottingham Forest are also interested, but Luiz is not keen on those options.
Luiz enjoyed an outstanding season with Aston Villa last year, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists to help them secure Champions League qualification.
However, Villa were forced to sell him in the summer to avoid breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules, and the move to Juventus has not gone as planned.
At United, any potential deal may hinge on departures. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are both possible exits this January, which could free up funds and squad space.
Manager Ruben Amorim is said to be a big admirer of Luiz, whose work rate, pressing ability, and versatility suit the 3-4-3 system.
Valued at around £38 million according to TransferMarkt, Luiz can operate as either a no.6 or no.8, offering competition and rotation options alongside Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.
Whether United make a move this month remains to be seen, but the Brazilian’s openness to the transfer could give them a big advantages.
