Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich on a potential free transfer this summer, according to Caught Offside.
The 29-year-old German international has been a cornerstone for Bayern over the past decade, but with his contract set to expire in June, his future at the Allianz Arena remains uncertain. Kimmich has yet to agree fresh terms, leaving top European clubs ready to pounce.
Liverpool are the latest side to show interest, according to caught offside, with the versatile midfielder seen as a potential upgrade in central midfield and even a possible long-term replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.
He could also provide strong competition for Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister in the heart of Arne Slot’s team.
Kimmich has been one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers this season, excelling in the No.6 role with 9 goal contributions, a 93% passing accuracy, 6 recoveries per game, and a 65% duel success rate. His ability to dictate play and his defensive solidity would make him a huge asset for Liverpool.
Beyond midfield, the German has also thrived as a right-back, producing 56 goal involvements from 126 appearances in the position—numbers that mirror Alexander-Arnold’s attacking output.
While Kimmich would be a blockbuster addition for the Reds, his signing will not come cheap.
The £42m-rated star currently earns £316,000 a week, and Liverpool would likely need to make him one of their highest-paid players to win the race for his signature.
