Adam Idah looks increasingly likely to leave Celtic before the close of the transfer window, with the striker edging closer to a £7m move to Swansea City.

The Republic of Ireland international was absent from the squad that played out a 0-0 draw with Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday, further fueling speculation about his future.

Idah had already undergone medical checks in Wales but was recalled to Glasgow over the weekend as Brendan Rodgers insisted that no exit would be sanctioned until a suitable replacement was secured. Celtic have been cautious about allowing the forward to depart without first reinforcing their attacking options, given the demands of the season ahead.

According to Thecelticstar, citing Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, the 23-year-old has now completed the second stage of his medical with Swansea, leaving only final details to be resolved before the transfer is confirmed.

The situation also hints at progress behind the scenes for Celtic in their search for a new striker. Kasper Dolberg has emerged as the leading target, with the Danish international viewed as a strong fit for Rodgers’ system.

Dolberg made a late cameo appearance for Anderlecht on Sunday evening, but Celtic are expected to step up their pursuit with a fresh bid.

With transfer deadline day looming, the Scottish champions are planning an active finish to the window. Reports suggest Celtic are aiming to bring in as many as three new signings before the cut-off, with a striker top of the priority list.
