Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £67.5m.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been one of the standout names in this summer’s transfer market and was widely expected to join Tottenham after reaching a personal agreement with the club.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, Arsenal swooped in, matched Spurs’ bid, and quickly secured Eze’s commitment. Personal terms were finalised without difficulty, and the player completed his medical at London Colney on Friday before signing a long-term contract. Reports suggest the Gunners will pay £60m upfront with a further £7.5m in add-ons.
The move was confirmed on Arsenal.com, with Eze unveiled in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd prior to the clash with Leeds United. Arsenal also released a slick announcement video on social media featuring club legend Ian Wright.

After the signing of Eze was announced, Arteta said:
“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.
“His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to start working with Eberechi soon.”
Eze becomes Arsenal’s seventh major arrival of the summer, following the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Nørgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, and Viktor Gyökeres.
Mikel Arteta was eager to strengthen the creative options in his squad and seized the opportunity to bring in Eze once it became clear Palace were open to a deal. The England international was instrumental for the Eagles last season, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, Eze is also comfortable playing off the left flank, offering Arteta greater flexibility in the final third. Arsenal hope his flair and ability to unlock tight defences will provide the spark they’ve sometimes lacked in recent seasons.
Eze will take the iconic No.10 shirt at Arsenal and could make his debut against Liverpool at Anfield next weekend.
