Arsenal edge Chelsea in £50m Jamie Gittens chase

Jamie Gittens wants home. And Arsenal may be the ones to bring him back.

The Borussia Dortmund winger, just 20, has told the Bundesliga giants he’s ready for a Premier League return. That’s opened the door—but only slightly as reported by Ruhr Nachrichten.

Chelsea knocked first. But Arsenal now lead. Not with cash. With clarity.

Gittens sees more game time at the Emirates than Stamford Bridge, and that could prove decisive. Dortmund will listen if bids fall between £43 million and £51 million—even if they secure Champions League football next season.

Why Gittens?

He’s raw. Direct. Left-sided. Arsenal’s right wing belongs to Bukayo Saka. The left, though, is still a revolving door. Martinelli excites, Trossard contributes—but both frustrate.

Now Arteta wants competition. Not depth. Fire.

And Gittens brings it. In 46 appearances this season, he’s delivered 12 goals and 5 assists, dazzling with dribbles, pressing with purpose, and averaging nearly 3 take-ons per game.

A former Manchester City prospect, Gittens fits the Arsenal model: young, ambitious, resale potential. He’s not polished. But he’s relentless.

Trossard may be the casualty. Al-Ittihad offered £30 million after last summer’s deadline. Arsenal said no as per Fabrizio Romano. That may change.

Gittens isn’t coming to learn. He’s coming to claim.

And Arsenal, once again, are moving with intent.
