According to reports from The Standard, William Saliba has made a swift return to training in a welcome injury boost for Arsenal and could feature in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.

The French centre-back rolled his ankle during the warm-up before Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool ahead of the international break. Despite starting the match at Anfield, he lasted only a few minutes before limping off and being replaced by summer arrival Cristhian Mosquera.

Following that setback, Saliba withdrew from the French national team ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Iceland. Reports from France last weekend suggested he might be sidelined for up to a month, sparking fears he would miss an important run of fixtures for the Gunners.

However, Mikel Arteta has since confirmed that the defender is back in training and could even be available for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at the Emirates against Ange Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest.

“William trained today, so we have a decision to make whether we play him or not,” Arteta told reporters on Friday. “It’s very good news.”

Meanwhile, Ben White is confirmed fit to return after missing the last two games through injury. Bukayo Saka remains out with a hamstring problem but is making good progress in his recovery, according to Arteta.
