For the first time in history, the North London Derby will be staged beyond English shores as Arsenal close out their 2025 Asia Tour against Tottenham at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on Thursday.

This fixture marks a landmark moment—an iconic rivalry transported to new ground, with Mikel Arteta’s side aiming to finish their Far East run in style.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank will experience his first taste of this battle, and despite the “friendly” label, he has already promised an all-out effort to beat their fiercest rivals.

Arsenal arrive with momentum. Three preseason wins in regulation time, including a gritty 1-0 victory over AC Milan and a comeback triumph over Newcastle, have sharpened their edge.

New signings Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard have all featured, while 15-year-old Max Dowman has caught the eye with fearless wing play.

Viktor Gyökeres could also make his debut following his move from Sporting, although fitness checks remain ongoing. Gabriel and Jurrien Timber are close to returns, but Riccardo Calafiori’s availability is uncertain after a minor knee scare.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have endured mixed results, drawing with Luton and Wycombe despite a standout brace from Pape Matar Sarr in earlier action.

The stage is set for a fierce contest. Arsenal’s recent dominance over Spurs—unbeaten in six—adds extra heat, but Frank’s teams have always been dangerous in transition.

Expect intensity, tactical duels, and moments of brilliance from both sides.

Prediction: 2-2 draw.
