Ruud van Nistelrooy will lead Manchester United for the first of two Premier League games as interim boss before handing the reins to incoming manager Ruben Amorim. After a convincing 5-2 Carabao Cup win over Leicester City, United aim to extend their dominant home record against Chelsea on matchday 10.

Despite a shaky start to the season, the Red Devils remain within reach of the European places. A positive result against Chelsea is vital to keep pace with the top six and close the gap between the two sides.

In goal, Andre Onana is expected to return, replacing Altay Bayindir, who featured in midweek. Although promising, Bayindir lacks the experience needed for such a high-profile clash.

In defence, Noussair Mazraoui is set to replace Victor Lindelof, lining up at right back, while Diogo Dalot will switch to the left. Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt will maintain their partnership at the centre of defence.

Casemiro is likely to retain his place in midfield after scoring twice midweek, joining Christian Eriksen in the double pivot. Manuel Ugarte, who has primarily featured in cup games, could return to the bench. Bruno Fernandes will take up the No. 10 role.

On the flanks, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are expected to continue, while Rasmus Hojlund should lead the line in place of Joshua Zirkzee, who started against Leicester.

Van Nistelrooy will hope his refreshed side can secure a crucial win at Old Trafford.
