Celtic are on the verge of securing Benjamin Nygren, with the Swedish winger understood to be in Scotland finalising his switch from FC Nordsjaelland.

Dailyrecord reports that the Hoops have agreed a fee of around £1.5 million with the Danish side, and the 23-year-old has already shaken hands on personal terms. A four-year deal, with an extra year as an option, awaits him once the paperwork is complete.

All signs point to an announcement in the coming days, provided no last-minute issues arise. The former IFK Göteborg talent has been one of Nordsjaelland’s standout figures, blending speed with sharp movement and a keen eye for goal.

His adaptability across the frontline is seen as a major boost for Brendan Rodgers, who has been busy reshaping his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Nygren’s arrival follows another season of steady progress for the winger, his performances in Denmark drawing attention for both flair and productivity.

Celtic, fresh from a double-winning season, are determined to build from a position of strength, and this signing is a clear statement that the recruitment drive remains in full flow.

For Rodgers, the timing is just right. Pre-season is fast approaching, and Nygren will have the opportunity to bed in quickly, learn the demands of the system, and push for a starting role. Supporters won’t have to wait long to see him in green and white.

The move is close, the deal all but done, and Celtic’s summer rebuild takes another decisive step forward.
