Celtic may have endured what many supporters described as a disappointing transfer window, but bookmakers and pundits still view the Hoops as strong favourites to lift the Scottish Premiership trophy once again this season. Brendan Rodgers’ side are targeting a fifth consecutive league crown, and the current squad remains well-equipped to achieve it.
So far this campaign, Celtic’s performances have underlined their credentials. They sit at the top of the table and boast one of the best defensive records in the division. The additions of Kieran Tierney and Marcelo Saracchi have only strengthened the back line, giving Rodgers reliable depth and quality at full-back.
The midfield also remains one of Celtic’s greatest assets. With Callum McGregor pulling the strings, Reo Hatate’s creativity, and Arne Engels’ energy, the middle of the park looks solid. The arrival of Benjamin Nygren has added another dimension, while Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo provide valuable depth across competitions.
Up front, questions had been raised about whether the club had done enough business, but Rodgers now has plenty of options. New signings Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Shin Yamada, Kelechi Iheanacho, Sebastian Tounekti, and Callum Osmand bring competition for places alongside established names such as Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, and Yang. The return of fan favourite Jota later in the season will further bolster the attack.
With experience, proven quality, and emerging talent all within the squad, Celtic are still in a strong position. Already holding a six-point advantage over rivals Rangers, they appear well placed to maintain their dominance.
Despite frustrations over missed opportunities in the transfer market, the champions have the tools needed to extend their winning run and secure another league title.
