Sometimes the biggest transfers don’t come from need—but from opportunity.

Chelsea are quietly drawing up a “competitive offer” for Liverpool winger Luis Díaz, according to Colombia’s Antena 2, relayed by 90min.

It’s not just speculation—the London club have already cleared room. Joao Félix, once a marquee hope, left for AC Milan in January. Jadon Sancho is on the books for summer. Still, the Blues aren’t done.

They want cutting edge. They want Díaz.

It’s unexpected. The Colombian has been a key figure at Anfield, playing week in and week out, contributing goals and width, flair and bite.

But with a price tag reportedly set at £64 million last summer as reported by Goals.com, the Reds may now be listening.

Chelsea smell blood.

Díaz is 28. In his prime. Still hungry. Still sharp. More than a winger—he can play across the frontline. His goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this season still echoes.

And Chelsea need that.

Nicolas Jackson is willing, but raw. The goals don’t always come. Enzo Maresca’s system relies on wingers who can both stretch and finish.

Díaz checks every box—technical, tenacious, brave in the air. In many ways, more dangerous in the box than Jackson himself.

But will Liverpool sell?

They’ve done it before—Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mané. History says no one’s untouchable.

Yet this time, there’s added friction. Selling to a domestic rival—especially one as volatile as Chelsea—feels less strategic.

Still, Barcelona lurk. So do PSG. The market is real. The decision looms.

If Díaz is to move, Chelsea want front row seats.
