Chelsea’s search for attacking firepower has turned toward a familiar ally. Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha, once a rising star in Austria with Sturm Graz, is now firmly on the Blues’ radar as per a recent report by Tuttojuve.

The 22-year-old, whose move to Strasbourg in 2023 marked the next step in his rapid ascent, has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s most promising centre-forwards.

Last season, Emegha led Strasbourg to a historic European qualification, finishing as their top scorer with 14 goals and 17 total goal contributions.

Chelsea, linked with a host of strikers this summer, are reportedly ‘closely monitoring’ the Netherlands U21 international.

Their shared ownership with Strasbourg gives them a potential advantage in negotiations, but they face serious competition from Juventus, who view Emegha as a backup plan if their pursuit of Victor Osimhen falters.

Strasbourg’s European campaign makes them reluctant sellers, yet Chelsea’s need for depth up front remains pressing.

Liam Delap’s recent arrival and debut assist in the Club World Cup opener has added spark, but manager Enzo Maresca wants more competition for the No. 9 role.

Emegha, valued at £21m by Transfermarkt, would be a cut-price option compared to marquee names.

However, with Nicolas Jackson already leading the line—flawed but effective—the move may be more about building long-term competition than solving an immediate crisis.

Still, the young Dutchman’s rise suggests he is a forward on the cusp of a bigger stage.

Chelsea must now decide whether to act before another suitor makes the first move.
