Chelsea eye Vlahovic as Arsenal shift focus elsewhere

A crossroads. That’s where Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus now stand.

The 25-year-old striker is nearing the final year of his contract, and with wage demands circling £200,000 per week, Juve—burdened and cautious—are bracing for a summer exit.

Enter the Premier League.

Caught Offside has reported, that Chelsea and Arsenal are circling, drawn not just by the Serbian’s finishing, but by his price. At £42 million, Vlahovic costs less than half of what Osimhen or Gyokeres might command. It’s a rare chance to snap up a proven Serie A scorer at a cut rate. But timing and priority change everything.

Arsenal? They’re glancing, not hunting. With Gyokeres still top of Mikel Arteta’s wishlist, the Gunners view Vlahovic as plan B, not prize. There’s admiration, yes. But no urgency.

That leaves Chelsea.

Though Enzo Maresca has his eyes set on Victor Osimhen—a pricier and more complete package—he’s not ruling Vlahovic out. The Club World Cup looms, and the Blues need finishers who can deliver now. But there’s doubt.

Chelsea have been burned by forwards before. Lukaku. Werner. Havertz. Shadows linger. They want numbers, not potential. They want certainty, not hope.

And Vlahovic, for all his gifts, carries questions.

His 2023–24 form showed flashes, but not enough consistency. In a team built around defence, his ceiling remains unknown. Could the Premier League unlock him? Or expose him?

Still, the door remains ajar. For Chelsea, the gamble is tempting. For Arsenal, it’s insurance. And for Vlahovic, it’s escape. But also expectation.

One club must believe enough to bet on his becoming.,
