Chelsea had previously made a formal offer to Borussia Dortmund to sign winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, with a proposed fee of £42m. However, Dortmund is reportedly seeking around £55m for the 21-year-old England U21 star.

Despite the Blues’ initial offer being lower than expected, they’re willing to wait until after the Club World Cup to negotiate a better deal.

According to David Ornstein, a football analyst, reports, “No club-to-club agreement but talks ongoing + deal in place with England youth int’l; 7yr contract.” This potential move would be a homecoming for Bynoe-Gittens, who had a brief stint at Chelsea’s youth academy.

The winger has had an eventful season, scoring 8goals and providing 4 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances. He made headlines in October’s Champions League match against Real Madrid, becoming the youngest English player to score against Los Blancos in the competition at just 20 years and 75 days old.

However, since Niko Kovač took charge in January, Bynoe-Gittens’ influence has waned, and he’s struggled to maintain consistency.

Chelsea’s interest in Bynoe-Gittens is driven by the need to strengthen their left flank, where Pedro Neto and young prospect Tyrique George are currently vying for a starting spot.

The Blues have already secured Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and are looking to add more firepower to their squad.

If the deal goes through, Bynoe-Gittens will face stiff competition for a starting berth, but his explosive talent and experience could make him a valuable addition to the team.

The negotiations are ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can secure the talented winger’s services.
