Chelsea are actively exploring attacking reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window, as Enzo Maresca looks to address the club’s lack of clinical finishers.

With Champions League qualification hanging in the balance, bolstering the frontline has become a top priority — and discussions are already underway.

According to journalist Simon Phillips (via 90min), the Blues have held talks with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and Fulham’s in-form forward Rodrigo Muniz. Both players have enjoyed standout campaigns, but it is expected Chelsea will only move for one of them.

Last summer, Muniz caught Manchester United’s attention, with Fulham reportedly valuing him at £50 million, according to Givemesport. Meanwhile, Ekitike — also attracting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool — could command a fee in the region of £85 million, according to caught offside.

While Ekitike’s higher price tag might seem steep, his profile offers more to Chelsea’s current setup. The 22-year-old has scored 21 goals and registered nine assists this season, showcasing both his finishing and creative abilities, according to Transfermarkt.

Comfortable playing as a secondary striker or in a deeper role, Ekitike excels at intelligent off-the-ball movement and linking up with wide players — qualities that could complement Nicolas Jackson should Maresca keep him as part of his plans.

Securing Ekitike, however, could hinge on Chelsea qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

While they remain favourites to lift the Europa Conference League, a top-five Premier League finish will be crucial to ensuring they can attract elite talent in the summer.
