Chelsea, Man Utd still in Race for Nice Keeper Bulka

Chelsea and Manchester United’s goalkeeper search has taken them to France, with OGC Nice’s Marcin Bulka emerging as a genuine target for both clubs.

The 25-year-old Poland international has impressed in Ligue 1, combining sharp reflexes with a calmness in possession that allows him to build play from the back.

Now entering the final year of his contract, he is open to a new challenge, and Caught Offside has reported, Nice are prepared to cash in for around £21 million—a fee within reach for both Premier League giants.

Chelsea hold a natural advantage. Bulka spent time in their academy and would qualify as a homegrown player under league rules, a factor that increases his appeal compared to options like Emiliano Martinez or Mike Maignan.

Manchester United’s pursuit is complicated. Financial restrictions and the absence of Champions League football may leave them trailing.

Bulka, having helped Nice secure Europa League qualification, is keen to play in Europe next season, making Chelsea’s offer potentially more enticing.

From a tactical perspective, Bulka aligns well with the Blues’ approach. His distribution—both short and long—has drawn praise, and his command of the penalty area gives him an edge over Robert Sanchez, whose struggles with crosses and second-ball situations have been costly.

For Chelsea, he represents a blend of familiarity and quality. For United, he could be a cost-effective upgrade on Andre Onana.

Either way, the clock is ticking before another club makes the first decisive move.
