Chelsea, United cool on £70m Kolo Muani move

Chelsea and Manchester United may share a summer shopping list, but Randal Kolo Muani is slipping down it.

The French forward, once a hot Bundesliga commodity, joined Paris Saint-Germain last year in a big-money move but spent the second half of the season on loan at Juventus.

In Turin, he impressed—quick, clever, dangerous—but the Italians can’t stretch to the £70 million it would take to keep him.

PSG, fresh from a Champions League triumph, are willing to cut their losses but won’t go below that figure.

As per Teamtalk report, It’s a price both Chelsea and United are reluctant to match, especially with better-value targets in play.

United have already secured Matheus Cunha and are chasing Bryan Mbeumo, their budget likely dependent on sales before any further splurge.

For a player who has yet to dominate even in the less demanding Ligue 1, Old Trafford’s decision-makers will think twice. Goals in Italy and Germany matter, but £70 million demands Premier League certainty—and Kolo Muani hasn’t offered it.

Chelsea’s stance is even clearer. With Liam Delap already through the door and Victor Osimhen firmly on their radar, the Blues see more impact for less cost elsewhere. Osimhen’s numbers dwarf Kolo Muani’s, and his price could be lower—a rare combination in today’s market.

Once, a move to England felt inevitable for the 26-year-old. Now, it feels improbable.

For both Chelsea and United, Kolo Muani is the kind of name you keep in the file, not the kind you sign at any cost.
