Christopher Nkunku now open to joining Man Utd

Chelsea playmaker Christopher Nkunku is reportedly open to a move to Manchester United before the transfer window closes next week, according to Caught Offside.

The French international has struggled for consistent minutes under Enzo Maresca.

While he has been deployed as a striker in European and Cup fixtures, Nicolas Jackson remains the first-choice forward in Premier League action. This lack of opportunities has prompted Nkunku to consider a fresh challenge.

Earlier this winter, the 26-year-old had agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, but the German giants were unwilling to meet Chelsea’s £59 million valuation.

Although a loan deal with an obligation to buy was discussed, talks failed to progress.

Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig after two stellar Bundesliga campaigns, but injuries disrupted his debut season in London.

Though he has remained fit this year, he has been unable to displace Jackson up front or Cole Palmer in the attacking midfield role.

At Manchester United, Nkunku could find a more suitable fit. New boss Ruben Amorim’s system often features two attacking midfielders, providing the Frenchman with a chance to compete for a key creative role.

Despite limited minutes, Nkunku has managed 13 goals and 4 assists this season—highlighting his potential impact with regular game time.

Financial constraints mean United are unlikely to sanction a permanent deal, but with Chelsea also targeting Alejandro Garnacho, a swap arrangement between the two clubs could become a realistic solution before the deadline.
