Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly ready to challenge Inter Milan for the signing of LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David, according to TEAMtalk.

Despite winning the Premier League title this season, Liverpool have struggled for consistency in the centre-forward position.

Diogo Jota’s recurring injury issues have hampered his form since returning, while Darwin Núñez has yet to convince new manager Arne Slot and has often been sidelined. In some matches, Luis Díaz has been deployed as a makeshift striker, though he is more comfortable on the wing.

Liverpool are now open to selling Núñez and view David, according to TeamTalk, who will be available as a free agent this summer — as a prime replacement.

Inter Milan remain frontrunners, having already tabled a contract offer, but the Canadian forward has yet to commit, giving Liverpool an opening to step in.

Arsenal are also firmly in the race. With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz sidelined by injury, Mikel Arteta is eager to sign a proven No.9. West Ham United and Barcelona have also expressed interest, adding more competition for David’s signature.

Valued at around £38 million by Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old has consistently delivered goals for Lille and could represent an excellent value signing for any club in need of a clinical striker.

The coming weeks will reveal whether Liverpool or Arsenal can outmaneuver Inter and secure one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.
