Liverpool are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as uncertainty grows around Mohamed Salah’s long-term future at Anfield.
The Egyptian star has been central to the Reds’ success in recent years, and his departure would leave a massive void in attack.
Sane, whose contract at Bayern expires in just six months, is attracting strong interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal, according to CaughtOffside.
With no extension agreed, the 28-year-old is free to negotiate with foreign clubs, putting the Premier League duo on high alert.
According to Football Insider, Bayern Munich would be willing to cash in on Sane this month for a fee in the region of £20–25 million rather than risk losing him for free in the summer.
Liverpool could have the edge over Arsenal in the race. While Mikel Arteta is keen to reunite with his former Manchester City teammate, Sane may face limited opportunities once Bukayo Saka returns from injury.
By contrast, at Liverpool, he would have the chance to step directly into Salah’s shoes and play a key role under Arne Slot.
Despite a quieter season in terms of goals and assists, Sane’s pace, dribbling ability, and Premier League experience make him an attractive option.
Slot’s track record of revitalising players such as Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch adds further weight to the idea that Sane could rediscover his best form at Anfield.
With Bayern now open to offers, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool act quickly to secure what could be a bargain deal for the German international.
