Rodrygo Goes could be on his way out of Real Madrid, with Premier League shores calling louder than ever.

The Brazilian forward, twice a Champions League winner, has slipped down Xabi Alonso’s pecking order after Gonzalo Garcia’s breakout at the Club World Cup. With minutes harder to come by, a move to England this summer is firmly on the table.

Liverpool have re-entered the chase they once led. Their interest in Rodrygo stretches back to 2019, when the then-teenager chose Madrid over Merseyside. Now, journalist Santi Aouna reports the Reds have opened direct talks with his representatives, ready to match the £86 million valuation set by Los Blancos.

Tottenham Hotspur are also assessing the possibility, but the player’s sights may be set higher. Spurs’ inconsistency in silverware and frequent managerial changes are unlikely to convince a talent accustomed to competing for the biggest prizes.

Arsenal, once in the hunt, have shifted their focus following Noni Madueke’s arrival from Chelsea, leaving Liverpool with a clearer path.

The Reds’ status as defending Premier League champions under Arne Slot makes them an attractive proposition, strengthened by a summer rebuild aimed at keeping them on top.

If Luis Diaz departs, Liverpool will need a proven wide threat, and Rodrygo fits the bill. At 24, he combines experience at the elite level with room to grow—a player who can slot straight into a title-chasing squad without slowing the momentum.

Madrid may want to keep him, but in football, desire and opportunity can be decisive. And right now, Liverpool have both.
