Liverpool’s summer has been relentless. Jeremie Frimpong arrived from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, now bound for Real Madrid.

Florian Wirtz is also secured, a playmaker to inject creativity. Milos Kerkez could follow from Bournemouth.

But the Reds may not be done. Anthony Gordon, Newcastle’s left-wing spark, is back on their radar.

Liverpool tracked him in 2024, and now The Sun claims they could return with a staggering £100 million bid. Newcastle’s finances are strong after Champions League qualification, but such an offer could still sting.

This is not indulgence—it’s necessity. Mohamed Salah’s 47 goal contributions powered last season’s title win, but relying on him alone is dangerous.

Luis Diaz began brightly before fading. Cody Gakpo’s rhythm was broken by injury, his goal touch deserting him when it mattered most.

Gordon offers more than numbers—though his 22 goals and 23 assists in 106 games for Newcastle impress. His direct running, relentless pressing, and dribbling menace fit seamlessly into Arne Slot’s high-tempo style.

The former Evertonian, 24, also grew up a Liverpool fan. That emotional pull could matter if the deal hinges on his push.

For Newcastle, losing him would hurt. For Liverpool, it could reshape the attack. Selling Diaz or Darwin Nunez—both linked with Saudi moves, with Diaz also on Barcelona’s radar—might offset the fee.

It’s a bold play, one that tests both Newcastle’s resolve and Liverpool’s appetite for risk. The window still has time. For Gordon, the call of Anfield may be louder than ever.
