Liverpool target potential Mohamed Salah successors

Liverpool could be preparing for life without Mohamed Salah, as contract negotiations between the Egyptian forward and the club remain at a standstill. According to BBC, Salah has admitted both parties are “far away” from agreeing new terms, raising the possibility of his departure as a free agent at the end of the season.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Reds have identified Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo as potential replacements.

Both attackers have been in fine form this season — Semenyo registering five goals and two assists, while Mbuemo has netted 11 times and provided three assists.

While a January move for either player is unlikely, Liverpool could make their move in the summer. Semenyo, primarily a left winger, has shown versatility by featuring across the front line, including right wing, central forward, and both midfield flanks.

Mbuemo, naturally a right winger, has also impressed as a central striker this term.

By signing both players, Liverpool could secure long-term depth and flexibility in attack — especially if Salah departs.

The need for reinforcements is heightened by speculation over Luis Díaz’s future and Darwin Núñez’s struggles to consistently deliver.

Transfermarkt values the pair at a combined £65 million, though any deal could approach £100 million.

For Liverpool, such an investment could be crucial in maintaining their attacking threat, whether or not Salah remains at Anfield beyond this season.
