Manchester United may yet add to their midfield this summer, with Olympique Marseille offering Adrien Rabiot for transfer before the window closes.

Ruben Amorim has focused much of the summer on reshaping United’s attack and trimming squad numbers, but midfield remains a concern.

Carlos Baleba was a prime target before Brighton shut the door, and names like Adam Wharton, Lucien Agoume, and Morten Hjulmand have since entered the conversation.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Marseille are now actively seeking to offload Rabiot following a recent off-field incident, with Jonathan Rowe also placed on their transfer list.

Rabiot’s representatives are exploring moves ahead of the September 1 deadline, and United are expected to be among the clubs offered the chance to sign him.

The Frenchman, once pursued by Erik ten Hag during his first summer in charge, remains a player of interest at Old Trafford.

Marseille are said to want around £17 million for the 29-year-old, whose current deal expires at the end of this season.

Rabiot brings experience and technical quality but also a reputation for unrest. His spells at PSG and Juventus ended amid off-field friction, and his time in France has been far from quiet.

United, already seeking stability under Amorim, must weigh the benefits of his ability against the risk of disruption.

A late move remains possible, but there is equal chance United look elsewhere to shore up their midfield and avoid adding another volatile presence to a dressing room already in transition.
