Manchester United are reportedly preparing to challenge Arsenal for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey.
United, now under new manager Ruben Amorim, have had a shaky start to the season with four wins and two losses from their first seven games. However, a recent 2-1 victory over local rivals Manchester City—secured by goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo—has lifted morale.
Despite the win, United are still sitting 13th in the Premier League, and Amorim is keen to strengthen the squad in January. One of his targets appears to be Kolo Muani, who has struggled to cement a place in Luis Enrique’s PSG lineup this season due to the intense competition.
Bailey reports that PSG are open to letting the 26-year-old leave on loan in January, with the option of a permanent deal. United are said to be actively pushing for the move, but they’ll face competition from all fronts—not just from Arsenal, but also Manchester City.
Kolo Muani joined PSG after an impressive stint at Eintracht Frankfurt and is currently valued at around £25 million. However, his impact at the French club has been limited, with just two Ligue 1 starts so far this season. Still under contract until 2028, PSG are expected to demand a significant fee to recoup their investment.
That price tag, combined with his current lack of form, raises questions about whether either Premier League club would be making a wise investment in this young talent.
