According to GiveMeSport, one of Amorim’s key targets is Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries, with United considering a £34 million offer. The Dutchman, 29, was previously on their radar following Inter’s Serie A title-winning campaign in 2023/24, but the Red Devils instead opted for Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
Widely regarded as one of the best right wing-backs in world football, Dumfries combines blistering pace with attacking intent, making overlapping runs that stretch opposition defences. His physical strength, tackling ability, and reading of the game make him equally effective in defensive duties.
While United remain keen and could step up their interest if they secure Champions League qualification, Dumfries appears unlikely to leave Inter.
The Netherlands international is an integral part of Simone Inzaghi’s squad and has shown no interest in moving away from San Siro.
With his contract running until June 2028, Inter hold a strong position, and it remains doubtful whether a £34 million bid would be enough to tempt the Serie A leaders into selling.
Considering Inter’s domestic and European success compared to United’s struggles, the sporting incentive for Dumfries to switch clubs is limited.
